AIGUISÉE, or AGUISSÉE, or ÉQUISÉE, in heraldry, a term applied to a cross, when its four ends are sharpened, so however as to terminate in obtuse angles. See CROSS. The cross aiguisée differs from the cross fitchee, in that the latter goes tapering by degrees to a sharp point; whereas only the ends of the former are tapered. See FITCHÉE.
