ANGLES OF A BATTALION, in the Military Art, are the Soldiers where the Ranks and Files terminate. See BATTALION. The Angles of a Battalion are said to be blunted, when the Soldiers at the four Corners are removed, so that the square Battalion becomes octagonal: which was an Evolution very common among the Ancients, though now disused.
