ADAGIO

ADAGIO, in Music, one of the words used by the Italians to denote a degree or distinction of time. See TIME. The Adagio expresses a slow time; the slowest of any, except Grave. See ALLEGRO. The Triple 3 is ordinarily Adagio. See TRIPLE.
