AETIANS, AETIANI, in Antiquity, a Sect or Branch of Arians, the Disciples of Aetius of Antioch, surnamed the Impious; who, according to Philastrius, was first Smith, then Sophist, and lastly Physician. See ARIAN.The Aetians had diverse other Denominations; as, Pure Arians, Eunomians, Heterousians, Troglodytes, See EUNOMIANS, HETEROUSIAN, &c.
