APONEUROSIS, among Anatomists, the spreading or Expansion of a Nerve, or Tendon, breadth-wise; in the manner of a Membrane.

It sometimes also signifies the cutting off of a Nerve or Tendon. And in some Writers, we find it used for a Tendon itself.
