ALTERNATE Ratio, or Proportion, is where the Antecedent of one Ratio is to its Consequent, as the Antecedent of another, to its Consequent; the very same Ratio, in this Case, holding alternately in respect of the Antecedents to each other, and the Consequents to each other. See RATIO. Thus, if A: B::C:D; then, alternately, A: C::B:D. See PROPORTION.
