ALGORISM, a Term used by some Arabic Authors for the practical Operation of the several Parts of Specious Arithmetic, or Algebra. See ALGEBRA. Sometimes it is also used for the Practice of common Arithmetic, by the ten numeral Figures. See ARITHMETIC.
