Assayer of the King, is an Officer of the Mint, established for the Assay, or due Trial of Silver and Gold. SeeAssay. The Assayer is indifferently appointed by the Master ofthe Mint, and the Merchants who bring Silver, etc. for Coinage. See MINT, COIN, etc.
